Meet The Band
Dave
Where it all started – On 6th July 1972 aged 14 I watched David Bowie and Mick Ronson with the Spiders from Mars on Top of The Pops. Bowie looked into the lens on the camera , pointed and sang “I had to phone someone so I picked on you oo who” That was the beginning of a lifelong obsession with Glam Rock, I had been chosen.
Influences – All the Glam Rock greats to many to mention but Sweet, Bolan and Bowie up there.
Previous Bands –‘Not The Faces’ in 1976 an attempt at a tribute to Early Rod and the Faces. ‘Vague’ Classic Rock, Pop and general tomfoolery. 12th Junction: Classic Rock one of the tightest and most accomplished bunch of musicians I ever played with and a successful 6 year run.The Sludge Monkeys: My current main band, Classic Rock with a modicum of cheese thrown in.
Career Highlight – Playing the Cavern Liverpool with ‘Vague’ packed out with friends and tourists.
Favourite Glam Track – Hell Raiser The Sweet.
Mission – To keep the Glam Rock genre alive and bring it to a venue near you.

Where it all started –1973 and sick of listening to big brother playing the Beatles I traded my pocket money for a new-fangled transistor radio ! The first song that came out of it? Ballroom blitz – that was it I was hooked. Of course it also helped that a cute blonde called carol in my class loved them to so it gave me some great chat up lines :0)
Influences – All and any of the Glam acts for the music and the show with Sweet and Slade at the top. As I got older I discovered Kossof – Young – Gilmour – Clapton – SRV and Gallagher as 6 string heroes.
Previous Bands – Close Encounter, playing anything we could all get to the end of at the same time – Southern Comfort as a classic rock band then Dream Weaver – soft rock on the club and British legion circuit! We thought we had made it. Doc bond classic rock to Blackpool holiday makers, then Kepler – the house band in a beer keller! Nuff said I needed a break. Tried classic rock again with 3 blokes and a bird for a while.
Career Highlight – 1986 charity gig for Run the World – I will dish the dirt and share the gossip when I’ve had a post gig beer
Favourite Glam Track – How long have you got – there’s so many but I suppose it depends on my mood.
Mission – To get people up and partying to the best tunes around.

Where it all started – Aged about 15 , first heard Deep Purple and more to it, Ian Paice. Always drummed on any object available. At the late age of 26 (1990) was able to buy my own second hand kit. A Premier APK. The bedroom Drummer was here!!!
Influences – Bev Bevan of course, Ian Paice, john Bonham and the sadly missed Mick Tucker.
Previous Bands – Put An Ad In Loot . 6 weeks later I’m in my first gigging band . We were called Black. Only been with 4 weeks! Then my first every gig with a Rock band. Next band was an 8 piece soul band called Off The Ground. Next an Original band called Empty Cradles. Then a long break till a covers band called No Pressure. Another break led to my last gigging band of 3 plus years…By Appointment only. Very busy band.
Career Highlight –
Favourite Glam Track – Too many to pick but if I had to – any Sweet track.
Mission – To play at the back doing my thing with a great bunch of lads keeping Glam rock alive and kicking.
